MANILA, Sept 19 (dpa): Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte has extended for one year a "state of calamity” imposed in the country at the start of a lockdown to contain the spread of the coronavirus, his spokesman has announced.
The proclamation extending the emergency measure until Sept 12, 2021 was signed on Wednesday, presidential spokesman Harry Roque said.
