Thailand king appoints new finance minister

BANGKOK, Oct 5 (dpa): Thailand's king has approved a former transportation minister as the country's new finance minister, according to the official Royal Gazette on Monday.

Arkhom Termpittayapaisith (pic) replaces banker Predee Daochai, who resigned abruptly ion Sept 1 after less than a month on the job.
