Beijing subway No.1 in rider volume


BEIJING: China’s capital Beijing ranked first in the world in both total and average daily passenger volumes of urban rail transit by the end of 2019, said a white paper on the city’s smart subway development.

According to the white paper published last week, Beijing’s total passenger volumes in 2019 registered 3.95 billion trips and daily average passenger volumes reached 10.35 million trips.The operating mileage of Beijing’s rail transit reached 698.6km last year, ranking second in the world.
