BEIJING: China’s Five-hundred-metre Aperture Spherical Telescope (FAST), the world’s most sensitive and largest single-dish radio telescope, officially opened for use by scientists worldwide.Astronomers can visit its website (fast.bao.ac.cn) to submit applications for observations, the National Astronomical Observatories, a subsidiary of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said in a statement.
Results will be announced on July 20 after evaluation of the applications, with international observations to kick off in August.
