WASHINGTON (The Straits Times/ANN): The United States on Monday (July 19) accused China of using “contract hackers” in a pattern of irresponsible, disruptive and destabilising behaviour in cyberspace that posed a major threat to economic and national security in many countries.
Between 2011 and 2018, the campaign allegedly targeted victims in the United States, Austria, Cambodia, Canada, Germany, Indonesia, Malaysia, Norway, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Switzerland and Britain, the Department of Justice (DOJ) said in its indictment.
