First flights land at China's new Qingdao airport

BEIJING (China Daily/ANN): The first 4F-level airport in East China's Shandong province, Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport, welcomed its first air traffic on Thursday (Aug 12).

Industry insiders said the airport, which has the highest-level international rating, is expected to improve the region's global connectivity and give fresh impetus to the local economy.
