JAKARTA (The Jakarta Post/Asia News Network): Indonesia intends to “keep a close watch” on developments in Afghanistan, a Foreign Ministry official has said, as the Taliban inch closer to announcing the line-up of a new Afghan government to replace the one they recently ousted.

The group is currently in the midst of consolidating its power over Afghanistan, following a swift takeover of the country last month sparked by the announcement that the United States was withdrawing its soldiers after two decades of military occupation.
