Cambodia seeks international support for climate change action

PHNOM PENH (The Phnom Penh Post/Asia News Network): A senior Ministry of Environment official has called for funding support from all countries to address climate change issues in the post-Covid-19 pandemic era.

Sum Thy, director of the ministry's Department of Climate Change who also serves as deputy secretary-general of the National Council for Sustainable Development, said: “Cambodia need support from all partners, including the Global Environment Fund, Green Climate Foundation as well as assistance based on bilateral agreements in order to respond to climate change, especially amid the post-pandemic recovery.
