US-Vietnam trade likely to reach US$100 billion this year


HANOI, Nov 23 (Bernama): The trade value between Vietnam and United States (US) is poised to hit US$100 billion this year, up 221 times from the figure achieved in 1995 when the two countries normalised relations.

"The first eight months of this year saw bilateral trade between both countries reaching US$73 billion," said Hoang Quang Phong, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) during a recent forum on promoting Vietnam-US trade in the new context.
