Lola Lita, Philippine ‘comfort woman,’ dies without getting justice

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO (Philippine Daily Inquirer/Asia News Network): One of the country’s more prominent “comfort women” during the Japanese occupation passed away at her home in Candaba town, Pampanga province, early this week without getting the reparation she sought.

Isabelita Vinuya, president of the Malaya Lola (Free Grandmothers), succumbed to pneumonia on Tuesday (Nov 23) at age 89, her granddaughter Rosen Say confirmed.
