One dead as Typhoon Rai batters coastal provinces and moves into Vietnam after leaving Philippines

HANOI, Dec 20 (Vietnam News/ANN): Typhoon Rai, the ninth typhoon of this year, hit Bình Thuan Province on Sunday night (Dec 19), killing at least one person dead, according to the National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control.

A 38-year-old fisherman from Chí Cong Commune, Tuy Phong District, was confirmed dead after his boat capsized on Sunday morning. Typhoon has during the weekend wreaked havoc in Philippines and destroying houses and property belonging to thousands of Filipinos.
