E-commerce under FTA key to trade growth between Vietnam and UK

HANOI (Vietnam News/Asia News Network): Although the UKVFTA has been in effect for just a year, it has brought a noticeable increase in trade between Vietnam and the UK, according to Lương Hoàng Thái, director of Multilateral Trade Policy Department under Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT).

At a seminar discussing e-commerce under the UKVFTA on Jan 18, Thái said bilateral trade surpassed US$6 billion in 2021. Compared to the pre-agreement period, Vietnam’s exports went up 16.4 per cent and the UK’s exports 23.6 per cent.
