Man gets 9 years jail, caning for fatal assault on 4-year-old stepdaughter


SINGAPORE (The Straits Times/Asia News Network): A 29-year-old man who fatally assaulted his four-year-old stepdaughter in 2018 after she urinated on the floor was on Monday (May 9) sentenced to nine years' jail and 12 strokes of the cane for voluntarily causing grievous hurt.

Muhammad Salihin Ismail went on trial last year on a charge of murder for the girl's death.
