Taiwan air force training jet crashes, killing 23-year-old pilot, soon after 30 PLA warplanes fly past island


A Taiwan air force training jet has crashed in Kaohsiung, southern Taiwan, in a training mission, killing the pilot, according to the island’s military.

The locally developed twin-seat AT-3 trainer took off from the air force base in Kangshan, near Kaohsiung, on Tuesday morning and crashed into a paddy field nearby three minutes later, the air force and Kaohsiung Fire Department said.
