World population to reach eight billion on Nov 15, says United Nations


UNITED NATIONS, July 11 (Xinhua): The global population is projected to reach 8 billion on Nov. 15, with India projected to surpass China as the most populous country in 2023, the United Nations (UN) said Monday, World Population Day.

"It is a reminder of our shared responsibility to care for our planet and a moment to reflect on where we still fall short of our commitments to one another," said UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
