Chinese FM offers condolences to Philippine counterpart over death of former Philippine president

PHNOM PENH (Xinhua): Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi sent a message of condolence to Philippine Foreign Secretary Luis Enrique Manalo over the death of former Philippine President Fidel Ramos.

Shocked to learn the death of former President Ramos, Wang said he would like to express deep condolences and sincere sympathies to his relatives.

Ramos was an old friend of the Chinese people and has made positive contributions to the development of bilateral relations, said Wang.

The Chinese side is ready to work with the Philippine side to push forward China-Philippines friendly cooperation, he said.
