PHNOM PENH, Sept 20, 2022 (AFP): Cambodia's UN-backed court set up to try Khmer Rouge leaders ends its work on September 22, 2022, but with just three convictions after 16 years' work the tribunal has brought only limited solace to survivors of the genocidal regime.
The Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC) will on Thursday (Sept 22) give its judgment in the appeal by 91-year-old former head of state Khieu Samphan against his 2018 conviction for genocide and crimes against humanity.
