Coronavirus in China: More cases to come in Xinjiang amid outbreak uncertainty, says health official


More Covid-19 cases will emerge in Xinjiang in coming days as the northwestern region faces “uncertainty in the development of the outbreak”, according to the region’s top disease control expert.

Outbreaks continued in major cities in Xinjiang over the past week after cases had subsided last month, said Ni Mingjian, chief expert of Xinjiang Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, at a press briefing late on Wednesday.
