Non-halal yeast ordered to be isolated

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Borneo Bulletin/Asia News Network): A supermarket selling the NOW Food brand’s Brewer’s Yeast Powder was ordered to isolate the product to the non-halal section on Tuesday (Nov 15) after authorities said it was produced through the production process of an alcoholic drink.

An investigation by the Halal Food Control Division under the Syariah Affairs Department confirmed the allegation after public complaints, according to a statement by the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA).
