Cambodia, Japan formulate ‘strategic partnership’ plans

PHNOM PENH (The Phnom Penh Post/Asia News Network): Cambodia and Japan have made plans to increase their bilateral engagement in order to strengthen ties and reach the level of “comprehensive strategic partnership” (CSP) in 2023, a goal reaffirmed by outgoing Japanese ambassador Masahiro Mikami and foreign minister Prak Sokhonn in their meeting on Dec 6.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mikami praised the bilateral relations and noted with satisfaction the planned upgrade to CSP in 2023, the commemorative year of the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
