Myanmar: Fuel oil prices in Yangon decrease but diesel prices increase again

YANGON, Dec 11 (Eleven Media Group/ANN): Although the prices of fuel oil have decreased in Yangon, diesel prices have increased again according to the Supervisory Committee on Oil Import, Storage and Distribution of Fuel Oil.

On December 10, a litre of 92 Ron cost Ks.1805, a litre of 95 Ron cost Ks.1895, a litre of diesel cost Ks.2185 and a litre of premium diesel cost Ks.2260.

On December 9, a litre of 92 Ron cost Ks.1830, a litre of 95 Ron cost Ks.1925, a litre of diesel cost Ks.2125 and a litre of premium diesel cost Ks.2200.

The committee is inspecting the fuel stations whether they are overcharging or not.

The authorities are taking action against those retailers of fuel stations under the Petroleum and Petroleum Products Law 2017 if they are found over-charging rather than the reference rate.

More than 16 million gallons of fuel oil had unloaded at Thilawar port and so there is enough fuel oil for local consumption according to the committee.

MT. Harmony One will be unloading 3.07 million gallons of diesel and 3.07 million gallons of premium diesel, MT. Yu Dong will be unloading 2.76 million gallons of 92 Ron, 0.92 million gallons of 95 Ron and 1.65 million gallons of diesel, MT. Beluga will be unloading 4.31 million gallons of premium diesel at respective terminals and therefore there is sufficient fuel oil according to the committee. - Eleven Media Group/ANN
