JAKARTA (Xinhua): Tourists on Indonesia's resort island of Bali were warned against the danger of strong winds and high sea waves in the coming days, the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) said on Wednesday (Feb 8).
According to the agency, strong winds will likely blow from the southwest to the northwest with speeds ranging from 4 to 45kph, especially in the southern and eastern parts of Bali.
There will also be 3m high waves or even more in most of the southern part of the island that is popular with its world-class waves and amazing beaches. Most-visited destinations, such as Nusa Dua, Kuta and Sanur, are among the areas that will likely see the tidal waves.
"To all people there who have activities in coastal areas, including tourists, fishermen and business owners, please be more careful for two days ahead. We have also predicted light to moderate intensity of rain to occur during those days," head of BMKG's Bali office Cahyo Nugroho said.
