Three major Myanmar cities mark 76th Union Day


YANGON (Eleven Media Group/Asia News Network): The 76th Anniversary of Union Day which fell on Sunday (Feb 12) was held in three major cities such as Naypyidaw, Yangon and Mandalay regions, according to the sources.

The ceremony to hoist the State Flag in commemoration of 76th Union Day was held at the City Hall in Naypyidaw Council Area on Sunday morning.

The Union Minister, the deputy ministers and the Union Level officals also attended the ceremony. On the occasion, vice-chairman of State Administration Council (SAC) Vice-Senior General Soe Win read out the message sent by SAC chairman Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.

Similarly, Yangon Region held the 76th Union Day in the compound of Yangon Region parliament and Yangon Region Chief Minister Soe Thein also read out the Union Day message sent by the SAC chairman as well as the ceremony to mark the 76th anniversary of Union Day was held at the Mandala Thiri ground in Chanmya Thazi Township, Mandalay Region, in the morning of Feb 12.

The Mandalay region government body including Mandalay Region Chief Minister Myo Aung attended the Union Day ceremony. The Mandalay Region chief minister saluted the state flag and read out the Union Day message.
