Myanmar exports 85,585 tonnes of corn in January


YANGON (Xinhua): Myanmar exported 85,585 tonnes of corn in January, earning more than US$25.7 million, the Myanmar Corn Industrial Association (MCIA) said on Tuesday (Feb 14)

The country exported corn to China, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Bangladesh, Brunei, India and Nepal, it said.

Myanmar shipped 77,620 tonnes of corn via sea routes, while the rest through land borders, according to the MCIA.

In addition, the country exported about 16,090 tonnes of rubber in January, earning more than $19.16 million, official data showed.

From April 1 last year to Feb 3 this year, Myanmar's total export was worth more than $14.05 billion.
