YANGON (Eleven Media Group): Two Myanmar migrant workers working in a durian farm in southern Thailand were murdered on Tuesday (Feb 14), sources said.

When the Thai police went to the scene of the incident to investigate, they found that two Myanmar migrant workers had died from stab wounds in a pool of blood in a tent at the durian farm.

The incident occurred at around 8pm on Tuesday. The two people who died were two Myanmar workers aged 48 and 58.

The Thai police did not comment on the identity of the murderer, but considered that it was a possible murder attempt between Myanmar people.

U Moe Gyo, Chairman of the Joint Action Committee for Burmese Affairs (JACBA), said that there should not be any killings among Myanmar people, and Myanmar workers need to be careful about their stay in Thailand.

"It is considered that they were killed in that durian farm due to grievances. When they saw Myanmar nationals armed with swords, the Thai police initially noted that it was a murder between Myanmar citizens. What happens between Myanmar citizens is of no benefit to anyone.

"For hundreds of thousands of Myanmar in Thailand, there will be surveillance in their travel and living, and no one is benefiting. Myanmar people in Thailand must be careful. It is not yet clear whether the culprit is from Thailand, Myanmar or Cambodia," said U Moe Gyo.

Last Sunday (Feb 12) in Thailand, A 23-year-old Myanmar human trafficker was stabbed to death in his room in Samut Prakan province.
