Student killed, 10 others injured in mine blast in western Myanmar

YANGON (Xinhua): A student was killed and 10 others were injured in a mine blast in western Myanmar's Sagaing region on Wednesday (Feb 15), the Information Team of Myanmar's State Adminstration Council (SAC) reported.

The incident happened at around 1pm local time when a vehicle carrying a group of school children hit the mine in Ayadaw township of Sagaing region, it said.

The victims are the students who were returning from a high school in Ayadaw town after sitting for their final exam for the 2022-23 academic year, it added.

Photos released by the SAC's Information Team showed the children getting injured in their legs, hands, chests and faces.
