VIENTIANE, Feb 15 (Xinhua): Laos and Cambodia expressed their intention to promote business cooperation during a bilateral meeting in Lao capital Vientiane that was joined by a delegation of leading Cambodian business people.
The meeting, which was held on this week in Lao capital Vientiane, was co-chaired by Lao President of the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry Oudet Souvannavong, and President of the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce, Neak Oknha Kith Meng, Lao National TV reported on Wednesday.
More than 30 representatives from various sectors of Laos and Cambodia, including trade, services, transportation, real estate, hotel, tourism, finance, construction and information technology, participated in the meeting.
Oudet welcomed the Cambodia delegation and thanked its members for their interest in increasing investment cooperation between the two countries.
At the meeting, both parties signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to review cooperation under another MoU that both sides inked in 2016.
The signed document is also aimed at boosting business, especially the exchange of business information and other relevant policies.
The two sides also made presentations on bilateral trade, investment and the possibility of business cooperation between Laos and Cambodia, especially along economic corridors running along Cambodia's borders with the Lao provinces of Champasak, Sekong, Attapeu and Saravan.
In addition, the meeting focused on boosting economic ties between the two countries and exchanged views on opportunities, the investment climate and potential sectors for growth, according to the report. Enditem
