BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Borneo Bulletin/Asia News Network): Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah and his consort departed Saudi Arabia on Sunday (April 16) after concluding the official visit.
Accompanying them were members of the royal family.
Prior to departure the royal couple kissed the Hajarul Aswad and performed the Asar prayer at Masjidil Haram.
Before leaving the holy city of Mecca, they performed Tawaf Wida’.
During the official visit, the Sultan attended a meeting with Prince Mohammed Salman Abdulaziz Al-Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia; and visited the Islamic Arts Biennale in Jeddah and the International Fair and Museum of the Prophet’s Biography and Islamic Civilisation in Medina.
The Sultan as well as members of the royal family also visited the Maqam of Rasulullah Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam and performed the umrah in Mecca.
