Four killed in collapsed gold mining pit in central Cambodia


PHNOM PENH, May 6 (Xinhua): Four people died after a gold mining pit collapsed in central Cambodia's Kampong Thom province, said a police report on Friday evening.

The incident happened on Thursday at the gold mining pit in Sandan district's Snang On village, said the Kampong Thom Provincial Police's report, adding that the victims were all males aged between 28 and 38 years old.

Sok Heng, chief of Snang On village, said the pit was around three meters in depth and police recovered those bodies after other villagers reported the collapse Thursday. - Xinhua
