Brunei and Bahrain sign six major agreements and further upgrade cooperation between two countries


BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, June 12 (Borneo Bulletin/ANN): Six agreements were signed between the government of Brunei and Bahrain during Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah's state visit to the Middle Eastern kingdom.

Brunei King and Bahrain's King Hamad Isa Al Khalifa witnessed the signing of memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Bahrain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on political consultation.

Besides those agreement, a MoU on women’s affairs was also signed besides the MoU on media cooperation.

The monarchs also witnessed the signing of MoU on cultural cooperation and also a document on data sovereignty initiative was also signed. The two countries also signed a deal on general, technical and higher education cooperation.

Earlier, Sultan Hassanal was accompanied by Bahrain Prince ‘Abdul Mateen, began the state visit with a welcoming ceremony at Gudaibiya Palace in Manama.

The Brunei contigent also attended sveral high profile events which was organised by Bahrain's royal family in honour of the visit. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
