Brunei police open investigation into bullying viral video


BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Borneo Bulletin/Asia News Network): The Women and Children Abuse Investigation Unit of the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) has opened an investigation into two recent viral videos of bullying involving two victims.

According to the RBPF statement released yesterday, reports of both incidents were received on June 24 at the Bandar Seri Begawan Police Station.

The video recordings shared a male student being attacked by another male student, and the incidents recorded by a number of students.

The RBPF is gathering more information as part of their investigation into the incidents.

Both cases are investigated under Section 323, Chapter 22 of the Penal Code of voluntarily causing harm.

In light of the incidents, the RBPF urged the public, especially students, to cease any bullying as it can be classified as a criminal act.

The RBPF also reminded the public to refrain from speculating and spreading baseless information that can impact the safety of parties involved.
