Rising standards - Vietnam's economy to grow 4.7 per cent this year, says world bank

HANOI (Bernama-Xinhua): Vietnam's economy will grow 4.7 per cent in 2023 and accelerate to 5.5 per cent in 2024, according to a report by the World Bank released on Thursday, reported Xinhua.

The country's consumer price index (CPI) is expected to rise 3.5 per cent in 2023 and will be stabilised at 3 per cent in 2024, according to its latest economic update named "Making Public Investment Work for Growth."

A challenging external environment and weaker domestic demand are leading to a slowdown in economic growth in Vietnam, but the economy will pick up pace over the second half of this year and the following years, Vietnam News Agency cited the report.
