Six killed in explosive weapons attack in northern Myanmar

YANGON (Xinhua): Six people, including two children, were killed and several others were injured in explosive weapons attack in northern Myanmar, according to the state-run media.

The so-called People's Defence Forces (PDF) launched the attack in the Yamanay village of Kanbalu township, Sagaing Region on Saturday (Aug 12) morning, according to the report.

The terrorists attacked with drop bombs using drones and light and heavy weapons, killing six local residents and injuring three others. Two school buildings were also destroyed, it said.

Security personnel have initiated investigations to bring the perpetrators to justice and ensure that they face punitive measures.
