YANGON (Xinhua): Myanmar earned US$214.42 million from the exports of fishery products in the first four months of the present fiscal year 2023-2024, according to the Ministry of Commerce on Wednesday (Aug 30).
The revenue from exports of fishery products between April 1 and Aug 18 this year was down, compared to $239.821 million earned in the same period of the 2022-2023 fiscal year, the ministry's data showed.
During the period, the country's total export was valued at over $5.93 billion, down $640 million year-on-year, according to the ministry's figures.
The country's total trade value amounted to over $12.58 billion during the period, down over $388.77 million year-on-year. About 70 per cent of the country's trade with foreign countries during the period was done through the sea route, while its border trade was conducted with China, Thailand, Bangladesh and India, official figures showed.
Myanmar mainly exports agricultural products, animal products, marine products, minerals, forest products, manufacturing goods and others to foreign countries, while it imports capital goods, intermediate goods and consumer goods.
