King arrives in Brunei as part of 'Kembara Kenali Borneo' tour

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Borneo Bulletin/Asia News Network): Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Her Majesty Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah and members of the Malaysian royal family arrived to a warm welcome in Brunei Darussalam on Thursday (Sept 7).

The royal couple and their entourage arrived at 9.30pm via the Labu Control Post in the Temburong District.

On hand to greet the royal delegation were Minister of Home Affairs Dato Seri Setia Awang Ahmaddin Abdul Rahman and Minister of Development Dato Seri Setia Awang Muhammad Juanda Abdul Rashid as well as Malaysian High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam Dato’ Raja Reza Raja Zaib Shah.

The delegation also took the opportunity to greet people along the way as well as pose for a photo at the Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Bridge.

They then made their way to the The Empire Hotel Brunei and was welcomed by Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah and his family.

The delegation is currently on a special visit as part of the ‘Kembara Kenali Borneo’ tour from Sept 3-13. The tour covers a distance of 2,154km along the Pan Borneo Highway.

The Malaysian Agong is set to perform Friday prayers today at Jame’ Asr Hassanil Bolkiah.
