MANILA (Philippine Daily Inquirer/Asia News Network): President Ferdinand Marcos Jr on Tuesday (Sept 19) honoured the country’s 1.8 million-strong government workforce as the nation celebrates the 123rd Civil Service Anniversary.
In a video of his speech posted online, Marcos recounted the progress made by public servants since the establishment of the Philippines Civil Service via Public Law No. 5 on Sept 5, 1900.
“I would like to express my gratitude to all civil servants who work tirelessly with excellence and integrity to deliver the quality service that all Filipinos deserve,” he said.
“Thank you for your dedication despite the numerous challenges that we experience in our respective occupations. Let us strive harder in achieving our united goal of providing a better future for our country,” he added.
