BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Borneo Bulletin/Asia News Network):Four local men aged 17 to 53 were detained for their alleged involvement in gambling activities during a raid at the Gadong Wet Market on Monday (Sept 18).
According to the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF), the raid was conducted at the wet market’s stall number 67 based on public tip-off.
From surveillance, it was found that the suspects were allegedly involved in Katam-Katam gambling game. The game was not played in the traditional way which requires a gambling mat, dice and so on. Instead, it was played using a mobile app called ‘Real Fish Prawn Crab’.
The suspects and evidence were brought to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further investigation.
The raid was conducted by the Anti-Vice and Gambling Suppression Unit with the support of the House Break-In and Car Theft Investigation Unit and Commercial Crime Investigation Division under the CID of the RBPF.
