Malaysian man receives massive fine of RM265,000 for possession of e-cigarettes and vape items


BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, (Borneo Bulletin/ANN): Malaysian man Lee Sze Siang, 25, was ordered to settle a BND76,900 (RM265,000) fine for the possession of smuggled e-cigarettes and vape items.

Acting Senior Magistrate Dewi Norlelawati Abdul Hamid ordered Lee to serve 25 months’ jail in default of payment after he pleaded guilty to possessing e-cigarettes and vape items by the thousands in units.

Prosecutor Syafina binti Abdul Hadzid informed court that Customs preventive officers inspected the defendant’s car on arrival at the Sungai Tujoh Control Post at 2pm on September 18, leading to the discovery of the contraband. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
