JAKARTA (Vietnam News/ANN): Boeing has officially opened an office in Jakarta and signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Indonesian Transportation Ministry on the sideline of the office’s inauguration to intensify cooperation in the aviation industry.
In its statement released recently, the ministry welcomed the cooperation, considering it as an important step in increasing the capacity and sustainability of the Indonesian aviation industry.
The statement emphasised that establishing a partnership with Boeing, as one of the important stakeholders in the aviation industry, will bring greater opportunities for economic and technological growth in the country.
The ministry's Director of Airworthiness and Aircraft Operations M. Mauludin said that the MoU will help Indonesia to tackle challenges in the aviation industry such as supply chain and human resources. The two parties aim to develop quality human resources in the aviation sector which includes training and skills development.
The MoU covers some important aspects in the civil aviation sector, such as airworthiness, flight operations, increasing personnel capacity, air navigation services, air transportation, and sustainable aviation initiatives.
Moreover, the two parties will share knowledge and experience in technical aspects of aviation, including aviation safety and security, aircraft maintenance, and technological innovation.
For his part, Boeing's Vice President of Commercial Sales and Marketing Global Strategic Initiatives, John W. Bruns said the collaboration will mostly focus on joint efforts to improve aviation safety in Indonesia including information exchange, personnel training, and capacity improvement for Indonesia’s aviation industry. - Vietnam News/ANN
