MOSCOW (Bernama-Sputnik): Russia and Vietnam have reached agreements on the construction of wind farms in the republic, Russian Energy Minister Nikolai Shulginov has confirmed.
Shulginov and Vietnamese Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen, Hong Dien, discussed prospects for cooperation between the two countries in the energy sector as part of the Russian Energy Week.
The Russian minister noted progress in cooperation in the development of renewable power generation.
"Certain agreements have been reached between Russian and Vietnamese companies on the construction of wind farms in the republic,” Shulginov said as quoted by the ministry.
During the meeting, the ministers also discussed interaction on the supply and joint production of oil and gas resources, cooperation in the coal sector and in the electric power industry, in terms of modernisation and the construction of new electric power facilities in Vietnam.
After the meeting, the ministers signed protocols to existing inter-governmental agreements aimed at developing geological exploration and production of oil and gas in Vietnam.
The Russian Energy Week is being held in Moscow from Oct 11 to 13, bringing together high-ranking officials and representatives of leading energy companies from over 60 countries. - Bernama-Sputnik
