Medan police find five unidentified bodies on university campus

MEDAN: The Medan Police discovered five unidentified dead bodies on Tuesday (Dec 12) at a Prima Indonesia University (UNPRI) building in Medan, North Sumatra. The bodies were of four men and one woman, the police said, and were found on the 15th floor of one of the private university’s buildings.

Medan City Police criminal investigation department head Comr Teuku Fathir Mustafa said the police had found the bodies during a raid of the building after a video went viral on Sunday purporting to show two dead bodies in a water tub on the campus.

“Because the video went viral, the police went to the location for a scene investigation. We found the five unidentified bodies on the 15th floor after we checked all the rooms [in the campus buildings],” Fathir told reporters in Medan on Tuesday.

He said the police were still investigating the discovery of the five bodies to find out who they were and why their bodies were on the campus.

“The concerned party [UNPRI] was also not cooperative because they initially refused when we wanted to investigate the scene,” Fathir said, adding that the university had not issued any statement about the police’s findings.

UNPRI’s attorney Herman Brahmana confirmed that the police had searched parts of the campus on Monday evening. He declined to comment further about the police findings. - The Jakarta Post/ANN
