Laos to celebrate 75th anniversary of founding of Lao People's Armed Forces


VIENTIANE (Xinhua): Laos' Ministry of National Defence is gearing up to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the Lao People's Army on January 20.

The ministry was organising countrywide ceremonies to mark the historic occasion and had appointed a special committee to prepare activities, Lao Public Security Television on Monday quoted Deputy Minister of National Defense Thongloy Silivong as saying.

A competition will be held in which people are invited to create works of art or literature to celebrate the founding of the Lao People's Army.

From now until January 20, promotional activities will be widely organized and publicized among the public. - Xinhua
