BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Borneo Bulletin/ANN): The Science, Technology and Environment Partnership (STEP) Centre in Brunei recently held socialisation events at a number of Sixth Form Centres to share information on programmes on offer this year.
The centre held sessions at Sengkurong Sixth Form Centre, Tutong Sixth Form Centre (PTET) and Belait Sixth Form Centre over a number of days.
Around 400 school leaders and representatives from private and public educational institutions attended.
Two forum sessions were also held on January 20 and 27 to share and discuss innovative science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) programmes being implemented by educators at their schools.
Forum panellists included Noor Hayati Emran from Rimba III Primary School, Masirwan Dolah from Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan Science College (MSPSBS), Pengiran Abdul Raub Pengiran Ghani from Berakas Secondary School, Muhammad Zuwaini Aliyani from Ma’had Islam Brunei and Nazurah Abdullah from Belait Arabic School.
Head of Seria Energy Lab Dr Nur Karnina Karim was also a panellist, representing one of STEP Centre’s strategic partners.
During the sessions, schools that participated in the STEP Centre’s STEAM programmes in 2022 and 2023 were presented with STEAM Active School 2023 certificates.
They included Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah College, Pengiran Isteri Hajjah Mariam Secondary School, MSPSBS, PTET, Masin Secondary School, Pengiran Anak Puteri Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah Secondary School, Amo Primary School, Dato Mohammad Yassin Primary School, Pulaie Primary School, Pengkalan Batu Primary School, Bukit Panggal Primary School, Pengiran Setia Negara Pengiran Muhammad Yusof Primary School, Bandar Seri Begawan Arabic Preparatory School and Chung Ching Middle School. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
