VIENTIANE: The Vientiane Furniture Fair 2024 will be held from March 23 to 31, which will showcase the growing quality of furniture made in Laos, both for domestic supply and export.

The fair will be held in the Lao capital Vientiane, with 80 per cent of booths already booked by furniture association members, Lao National Radio reported on Wednesday (March 13).

The fair is also an opportunity to encourage people to take up jobs in the industry and develop new skills, especially in woodworking, with ornately carved wooden furniture made from home-grown timber being popular among many buyers.

The Lao Furniture Association, which is organising the fair, expects that about 100,000 people will visit the fair during the nine days. - Xinhua
