VIENTIANE (Xinhua): Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Security Vilay Lakhamfong called for the police force and government officials to step up public protection and security across the country.
Vilay made the remark during his speech to mark the 63rd anniversary of the founding of the Lao Public Security Force on Friday.
According to the Lao Security News report, Vilay highlighted the need for the force to make a more concerted effort to tackle the country's drug problem and address social injustice.
He called on all members of society to help strengthen the Party and the Public Security Force to ensure the direct, decisive, and comprehensive leadership of the Party in all aspects of work.
He called for the prompt suppression of hostile elements that sought to disturb the peace, order and safety of Lao society and economic and socio-cultural stability. - Xinhua
