Thailand offers visa-free policy for Sri Lankans

COLOMBO: Thailand has approved a 60-day visa-free policy for Sri Lankan nationals from June 1, in a bid to boost tourism between the two countries, Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Ali Sabry said here on Thursday (May 30).

Sabry told journalists that the measures introduced by the Thai government also include longer stays for students and visa-on-arrival schemes, reported Xinhua.

Thailand, with its economy depending heavily on tourism, has recently approved a raft of new visa promotions to attract more tourists, including visa-free and visa-on-arrival schemes and longer stays for students, according to Thai media. - Bernama-Xinhua
