The maintenance of open and candid communication between China and the US is “more crucial than ever” and Hong Kong can play a key role in boosting the cooperation efforts of the superpowers’ bay areas, the city’s finance chief has said.
Financial Secretary Paul Chan Mo-po on Wednesday addressed a high-level dialogue in Berkeley, California, which gathered American and Chinese officials to announce the signing of six deals to strengthen exchanges on climate issues and bilateral trade between the Greater Bay Area in southern China and the San Francisco Bay Area.
