Top Brunei financial institutions participate in river cleanup

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Xinhua): Thirteen financial institutions in Brunei Darussalam participated in a river cleanup initiative and collected 685 kg of trash on Sunday, according to the Brunei Darussalam central bank.

The initiative was organized by the bank in partnership with Green Brunei, and nearly 150 representatives took part in the event at the riverside village Kampong Ayer, Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital city of Brunei.

The event aimed to strengthen collaboration between the bank and financial institutions and to encourage the financial industry to contribute to the national sustainability agenda.

Managing Director of the bank Hajah Rokiah emphasized the importance of creating initiatives that have a positive impact on the society and the environment for the future and the next generation. - Xinhua
