BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) organised mass Subuh prayer in all four districts to commemorate the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (IDADAIT) 2024.

In the Brunei-Muara District, the prayers were conducted at the Ash-Shaliheen Mosque with NCB acting director Zainol Adi Jamain as the guest of honour.

Meanwhile in Tutong District, it was conducted at the Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque in Pekan Tutong, Utama Mohammad Salleh Mosque in Pekan Temburong and Mohammad Jamalul Alam Mosque in Kuala Belait.

IDADAIT is celebrated every June 26, following a declaration at the United Nations General Assembly in 1987.

This year, the celebration’s theme is ‘Empowering a Future Community without Drugs’ with a focus on awareness to the community in support of the bureau in its efforts to eradicate drugs in the country. – Borneo Bulletin/ANN
