Two women sold to Cambodia scam company for US$300 each; cops arrest man suspected of tricking them

HANOI (Khmer Times): A man in southern Tay Ninh Province was arrested to be investigated for tricking two women into going to Cambodia before selling them to a scam company for $300 per person.

Luu Huynh Kim Long, 32, was arrested by Tay Ninh police on Friday to be investigated for human trafficking.

On June 18, the police caught Long and a motorbike taxi driver transporting two women, aged 18 and 28, to Cambodia on lesser-known paths.

Long admitted that he was selling the women to a company in the Kim Sa 3 area in Ba Vet City, Svay Rieng, Cambodia. He also admitted to having sold three other women for $300 each.

Long said he is a recruiter who posts job offers online to find Vietnamese people to work in Cambodia. Long’s group would entice people with offers of high income.

Once victims agreed to be recruited, Long’s group would sell them to scam companies operated by Chinese people. - Khmer Times
